Phytozine is simple and safe to use on all parts of the body such as the face, scalp, hands, legs, and feet as well as sensitive areas such as the breasts, groin, genitals and anal region. Just apply the antifungal cream to the affected areas, making certain to cover the edges of the rashes, twice a day. In case of a severe ringworm infection or excessive discomfort, the cream can be applied more frequently without fear of causing side effects. It’s safe for kids, elderly people, individuals with diabetes and those with weakened immune systems caused by diseases such as Leukaemia and HIV/AIDS.

Patients with hair loss will often consult their family physician first. Hair loss is not life threatening, but it is distressing and significantly affects the patient's quality of life. The pattern of hair loss may be obvious, such as the bald patches that occur in alopecia areata, or more subtle, such as the diffuse hair loss that occurs in telogen effluvium. As with most conditions, the physician should begin the evaluation with a detailed history and physical examination. It is helpful to determine whether the hair loss is nonscarring (also called noncicatricial), which is reversible, or scarring (also called cicatricial), which is permanent. Scarring alopecia is rare and has various etiologies, including autoimmune diseases such as discoid lupus erythematosus. If the follicular orifices are absent, the alopecia is probably scarring; these patients should be referred to a dermatologist. This article will discuss approaches to nonscarring causes of alopecia.

Tinea capitis must be treated with systemic antifungal agents because topical agents do not penetrate the hair shaft. However, concomitant treatment with 1% or % selenium sulfide (Selsun) shampoo or 2% ketoconazole shampoo should be used for the first two weeks because it may reduce transmission. 12 , 13 For many years, the first-line treatment for tinea capitis has been griseofulvin because it has a long track record of safety and effectiveness. However, randomized clinical trials have confirmed that newer agents, such as terbinafine and fluconazole (Diflucan), have equal effectiveness and safety and shorter treatment courses 14 – 16   ( Table 4 ) . 2 , 12 , 17 – 20 Terbinafine may be superior to griseofulvin for Trichophyton species, whereas griseofulvin may be superior to terbinafine for the less common Microsporum species. 21 , 22 Culture results are usually not available for two to six weeks, but 95% of tinea capitis cases in the United States are caused by Trichophyton , making terbinafine a reasonable first choice. 23 However, kerion should be treated with griseofulvin unless Trichophyton has been documented as the pathogen. 2 , 17 Failure to treat kerion promptly can lead to scarring and permanent hair loss. 2

Tinea corporis is moderately contagious and can affect both humans and pets. If a person acquires it, the proper measures must be taken to prevent it from spreading. Young children in particular should be educated about the infection and preventive measures: avoid skin to skin contact with infected persons and animals, wear clothing that allows the skin to breathe, and don't share towels, clothing or combs with others. If pets are kept in the household or premises, they should get the animal checked for tinea, [8] especially if hair loss in patches is noticed or the pet is scratching excessively. The majority of people who have acquired tinea know how uncomfortable the infection can be. However, the fungus can easily be treated and prevented in individuals with a healthy immune system.
